Sundance

Yesterday afternoon as I travelled through my neighbourhood with the dogs, it may have looked like I was walking. But oh, no, I:

Tiptoed through the tulips:

Belly danced through the bluebells:

Rumbad through the Rhodos:

Did the bossa nova in the bleeding heart:

Arabesqued past the azaleas:

Do-si-doed around the dogwood tree:

And fox-trotted through flowers I don't know the names of (do you?):

I even discoed through the dandilions:

Because when flowers are singing in the spring sunshine, my soul has to dance.

April showers bring...

On a beautiful spring Sunday, on a leisurely walk through the neighbourhood, I concede there is some point to the endless April showers rain torrential freakin constant downpour of the last few weeks.

Most of these photos are from my neighbours' gardens. Guess which one is from mine.

Today's dream travel destination: Not far. Van Dusen Gardens, Vancouver. My favourite place to take a walk with my sister. She flew back to Europe yesterday after a two week visit. I miss her already.

Spring is in the air. Damn it.

Yes, it really is just around the corner. I found these signs today. Look, Crocuses (or croci?).

My heather is blooming:

Buds are doing what they do:

Snowdrops are blooming, and even the ladybugs are out:

The dogs in the doggie park can smell it:

and Dandilions are blooming:

Dandilions? WTF? I'm not ready to dig up the dandilions. It's only freakin February. Those of you still in the midst of glorious, icy winter must be counting your blessings. You can still skate, toboggan, wear mitts and shovel the walk. And you don't have to worry yet about digging up the dandilions. Oh you lucky, lucky folks.
