Pigs flew

Friday I was walking down Howe Street, heading back to my office with my take out lunch from Salad Loop. It was a crisp but bright day, and I was walking slowly, to enjoy the sun on my face. Suddenly a vintage Camaro with two young men in it swerved over to the curb beside me. I could see the passenger studying a map. The driver rolled down his window (He was closest to me, Howe is a one way street) and asked: "Hello, can you help us? Can you tell us how to get to the Lions Gate Bridge?"

"Sure", I said, "go down two blocks to Georgia Street, turn left, and Georgia Street will lead you right over the bridge."

"Great, thanks very much, and you have a good day."

"Guys, I should thank you, for making my day. Two men stopping to ask for directions!!!! I'm calling the Guinness book of Records!"

What is it with most men and directions? It's like it's a measure of manliness to know how to get anywhere.

Hey, we're not too proud to ask directions. Or perhaps they just wanted to see you up close!

I ask for directions, once I even asked for them in Glasgow, couldn't understand a word they said but I did ask...;o)

I could say they were letting down the side, but I am with Dumdad. I would've stopped too if it was you. So there.

Hmm...

Male bloggers are direction askers???

Is there a sociological study to be made in there somewhere?

Citizen, My usually sensible spouse would drive around in circles for days and buy ten maps before asking for directions.

Dumdad and Ian, Oh you are so chivalrous. But I have 20 years or so on these guys. And Demi Moore I am not. But thank you, thank you thank you.

Jazz, You may have something there. Maybe Men who write are more evolved than most? And Men who blog are not afraid of what people think? Hmmmmm.

That's hilarious and I agree that men usually aren't as inclined to ask directions as women.
